This post was first published in 2020. It was updated to reflect the latest FDA approval of sildenafil citrate (brand name Viagra).
We’re still in a review process that requires some form of medical expertise and a willingness to compromise.
Let’s start by setting aside a brief moment of opportunity to examine why the FDA has banned sildenafil citrate.
Let’s say you’re a doctor with a new heart drug that’s been approved by the FDA for treating erectile dysfunction. You take the drug just before sex and have to have sex in the middle of your life, and you’re a little anxious to get your hands on the drug. (This is a common problem that men with ED are experiencing, and if you take a higher dosage of sildenafil citrate than you would if you were not in the mood for sex.) You take it for about 2 weeks, and you’re ready to take it again.
Then, when you’re ready to take the drug, your doctor suggests you take it. That’s why, after 30 minutes of taking it, you get an erection. You’re not sure how you’ll respond to it, and your doctor is prepared to prescribe sildenafil citrate (a drug that’s not approved by the FDA to treat ED) to treat you.
So, your doctor might prescribe it, or you might choose not to take it. The FDA is taking an enormous amount of legal, health-promoting research and regulatory attention to sildenafil citrate, but it isn’t a magic pill for ED, and so you’re not likely to get the real deal, especially if you’re a guy who takes drugs to help him feel better, and you’re not a guy who is prepared to take them.
So, is there a magic pill for ED? Well, if you take a higher dosage of sildenafil citrate, you may take it to help you feel better, and so if you don’t take it, you have a better chance of getting the real deal.
It’s not hard to find. Sildenafil citrate is a medication, and it’s not a magic pill, but it’s not a magic pill for ED, and so it’s not hard to find. So, if you take it, you have a better chance of getting the real deal. And it’s not just about what you take. A lot of the data we have on the safety and effectiveness of ED medication is based on studies that have been done. So, if you take a higher dosage of sildenafil citrate, you’re likely to be on a better track to get the real deal.
If you take a higher dosage of sildenafil citrate, you’re likely to experience some sort of side effect, such as headaches, dizziness, or problems with your vision. You’ll probably also have a side effect of increased heart rate or a drop in blood pressure. That’s the only side effect that’s been shown to be associated with sildenafil citrate, which means it’s probably not the best medication for ED, but it can help you get the real deal.
